FAQ
What tide is best for fishing?
The best tide for fishing is usually the incoming (rising) tide or the outgoing (falling) tide. These tides create strong currents, which increase fish activity. You can track the best tides for fishing using the tide forecasts in the Fishing Points app.
Is it worth fishing at low tide?
Fishing at low tide can be challenging as fish may move to deeper waters. However, certain spots like channels or deeper pools can still hold fish. Use Fishing Points to find those optimal low tide fishing locations.
Is it better to fish at high or low tide?
Fishing is generally better during high tide or when the tide is rising. High tide brings fish closer to shore and into feeding areas. The Fishing Points app helps you pinpoint the best times to fish based on tidal movements.
Can I choose data from a specific tide station?
Yes, you can do so.
Open Tides in your Menu > Tap the location marker symbol in your top-right > Tide stations nearby will be displayed (if there are any), select the desired one by tapping on it.
How can I get a better overview of the tidal forecast for upcoming months?
View our tide overview.
Open Tides in your Menu > Tap the Change view button in your top-right (left of the location marker symbol) > Scroll to see past, present & future tidal movements.
Why does tide height in your app differ from official sources?
It’s usually an “issue” of different tidal datum formats.
You can change the formats under Settings > Measurement units > Tidal datum.
